Leicester and Coventry have been placed in the top 10 of UK property hotspots.
The cities, rated number three and eight respectively, came in just behind second place Burnley and Bradford which took the top spot.
The OnTheMarket Hotspots Index looks at the number of available sales properties and compares that against the volume of onsite activity, creating a score representing the intensity of interest in that area.
Overall, the north/south divide holds firm, with the top of the list dominated by some of the most vibrant and cheapest locations in the north seeing the most heat in terms of housing market activity.
Sheldon Bosley Knight’s regional sales manager Kevin Jackson said: “Coventry is very definitely on the up. There is a lot of investment happening in the city which is encouraging especially as it leads people to look at it more positively.
“There are two universities, plenty of things to see and do and lots of green open space. Whatever your housing needs we will have something to suit!”
Andrew Granger & Co Leicester sales manager Leigh Chapple-Lynch said: “I’m not surprised Leicester is in the top three as it is such a great place to live at any stage in life.
“Whether you’re a student, a young professional, or a family, Leicester has so much to offer, from cultural amenities to top universities. Plus, for those looking to retire or downsize, there are fantastic options available.”
