Dear Mr Gove….

In June, the government published its long-awaited Renters’ Reform Bill. Although much of what was included was expected, it has ignited once again the frustration many in the industry feel about the state of the private rental sector (PRS).
Sheldon Bosley Knight’s (SBK) associate director, Nik Kyriacou felt so strongly the Bill was a missed opportunity to help landlords and tenants, he decided to write to Michael Gove MP outlining his concerns. He urged Mr Gove to meet him and some of the landlords SBK represents, to discuss it further.
Nik wrote to Mr Gove four weeks ago and as yet has received no response. To read the letter, click on this link.
Nik said: “I had hoped he (Mr Gove) would have responded by now as it would have been great to get a forum together to show him the strength of feeling.
“I maintain the PRS is a great vehicle in which to invest, but landlords have to be given an incentive to stay. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.”
