Here at Sheldon Bosley Knight we recognise the importance of inspiring the next generation to think positively about careers within the land and property sector.
So we were delighted when custodian Dan Jackson was invited to speak to students as part of a careers initiative at Stratford-upon-Avon School.
It was standing room only to hear Dan’s presentation in which he spoke about his own route into the industry as well as providing a brief history of SBK and what careers opportunities both the company and sector offer.
Dan said: “It’s always a pleasure to talk to young people about the business, the sector as a whole and all the different jobs within it.
“There is so much variety, especially within SBK, and for many of the roles formal qualifications such as a university degree are not required.
“The students were engaged, interested and asked lots of pertinent questions, great attributes for success in their chosen careers.”
Stratford-upon-Avon School careers leader, Sarah Miles, said: “Dan spoke about careers in land and property including rural, planning, architecture, commercial services, and auctions.
“His invaluable key messages were to work hard, show initiative, and be personable. There are lots of great career opportunities for young people who want to work in property.
“Stratford-upon-Avon School looks forward to continuing to work with Sheldon Bosley Knight and hope the company will be represented at the school’s annual career fair in February 2024.”
