Property website Rightmove’s annual Happy at Home Index survey, pitched the Warwickshire town in 10th spot.
Hexham in Northumberland was crowned the happiest in the survey of some 21,731 people across Britain, ahead of Richmond in London which claimed second place and Harrogate in North Yorkshire which came in third.
The annual survey, which was published on November 24, asks people to rate the various aspects of the place they live. Happiness measures include access to green space, amenities, sense of community spirit and whether people are friendly or polite.
It is not the first time the popular former Spa town has been deemed a happy place to live. Last year the survey placed it third and it topped the list in 2017.
So, what is it about Leamington that makes it so special and such a happy place to live?
Director, Mike Cleary at Sheldon Bosley Knight said it is a range of factors. He said: “Quite simply, Leamington has it all.
“Centrally located, Leamington has excellent transport links giving easy access to the rest of the UK whether by road or rail. It also has stunning architecture, great schools, fantastic shops, bars, cafes and restaurants not to mention plenty of green space including the beautiful Jephson Gardens.”
“There are also loads of things to do – whether you are sporty, love the arts or enjoy going out with family and friends, there really is something for everyone. What really makes it special is the great community spirit that is abundant in town. And that, alongside a wide range of different styles of houses and flats to suit every taste and budget, make it a great place to live – no wonder people are happy to live here!”
