Over the month of August throughout the school Summer holidays, we rolled out a new project called Colour in the Community.
Colour in the Community is a project run by us to engage with local children and their unique perception of property, bringing more colour to our communities. We rolled this project out for two of our village offices, Shipston and Kineton. We selected two local schools, Kineton Primary and St David’s C of E Primary to take part in this fun project and they did not disappoint. We can’t thank both schools and the children enough for participating and bringing colour to our office windows. It has been a real joy getting to see the children’s smiling faces in our windows looking out for their pictures.
One of the reasons we chose colouring was because of the proven health benefits for children (and adults). Not only is it something that most children of all ages enjoy. It is also proven to encourage positive, relaxation-based coping mechanisms to help manage anxious thoughts and feelings. Especially in a time that many children have been experiencing unprecedented times with the lockdown and school changes due to COVID-19.
We will be looking to roll these out for some of our other offices over the next few months as this project proved to be quite the hit.
You will find below the link for all the colouring sheets that were available for the children. Feel free to use our free printouts for your children. We would love to see what masterpieces they come up with so please do post it on your Facebook and tag us in them with the hashtag #colourinthecommunity.
